With the time granted in preparation for the art show that evening this was time Kiroku could use to catch up on much of the world of Autumn Star. So much was new to him since arriving there that between conflicts and acclimation there was little personal time to see the realm in its “natural state”. So he set off to the Hospitality district by way of the market and commerce districts.
His plans were simple, observe the hustle and bustle of Autumn Star and take it in without his squad there to distract and take his undivided attention. Walking the single road gave Kiroku some peace and clarity that was missing over the last few weeks. He contemplated the last few days with his squad, his own life, the world etc. Watching the white noise of common folk and merchants selling their wares passing by without giving him too much notice was a welcome relief.
Some time later he found himself at a small table outside of a watering hole at the cross roads of the commercial district. Kiroku took out some of his parchment and practiced his calligraphy. As his mind began to wander going through the muscle memory of his practice, he thought back to the Koribear and uRha runes that had enchanted the arrows. He remembered the way the characters looked and the difference in the style that went into each stroke. The more he thought on it the more his memory brought back the feeling of the heat of those arrows. They felt as if the flame were right next to him. Suddenly Kiroku snapped back to reality and saw that his hand had crafted a rune on the end of a Ryokugani charcater and it began to burn the parchment from the inside out. He quickly padded the flame out before checking out at any onlookers. Thankfully no one was paying him attention and he was able to walk away without too much shame of letting his memory get the better of him.
